DAY 209
I did. I expected to reach this point at about day 29. A day when I awoke with no sudden leap of inspiration. No glimmer of a guitar. No gumption. Il fait humide, and it is hot. I don’t want to go out to the studio to rummage about. I want to sit with my journal and whine for posterity about how I’d much rather cower in the air conditioning and perhaps, now that I have had a cup of coffee, go back to bed. But today is my day to go paint with friends. The thought brightens the day a little, but brings no guitar. A nibble on my chunk of toasted baguette. A guitar. This is why I try to wake every morning and be grateful first. Even before coffee. Teeth, incidentally, are not precision carving tools.
